San Martin Pact

1)The Spanish Republic, Argentine Republic, and the Republic of Peru, mutually bound together by the unbreakable ties of a mutual faith in The Lord, of the Spanish language, and the inseparable milieu of the Hispanic culture which traverses from the Pyrenees, to Cape Horn, to the Rio Grande, join together in a mutual defense pact, declaring that in the event of an attack upon any single member, followed thereafter by a request for assistance by the attacked party, the other members shall be obligated to come to its assistance.
2)The members party to this association declare it to be named the San Martin Pact, in recognition of the founder of Peru and Argentina, as a testament of the mutual heritage and the ties of comradeship and fraternity which unite the Hispanic nations in mutual friendship and independence.
3)Declaring the intent of all involved parties to act to reduce the mutual barriers to trade, commerce, and investment between the nations, for the mutual prosperity of the Hispanic world, and to promote communication through the vigorous application of appropriate granting of airline and other communication rights to all involved members.
4)Affirming the centrality of the Spanish language, as a language of world civilization and development, as the sole means of communication and sole official language of the San Martin Pact, and pledging its constant strengthening and safeguarding by all involved nations.
5)Fervently declaring that the foundation of the social order of all nations rests rightfully upon a belief in God, the centrality of the church and of its moral guidance, the proper and correct preservation of the social order which serves as a bulwark of civilization, the necessary existence and preservation of the national community as the just and virtuous expression of human community, and that the dangers to this presented by the threats of communism, atheism, and cosmopolitan internationalism entail the peril and destruction of the civilized order. Thus, in the mutual interest and benefit of all participating nations, pledging the mutual tightening of the ties which bound together the Hispanic civilization as part of the broader Latin world, based upon the principles of social order, faith, and nationhood, via the signing of cultural treaties, student and teacher exchanges, and the promotion of the understanding and installation of these ideas.
6)Agreeing to the vital importance of sovereignty to each participating member of the San Martin Pact, the birthright of every nation.
7)Moving to promote the mutual exchange of technology, information, and scientific data for the mutual benefit of all participating nations, through the creation of appropriate institutions dedicated to this focus.
8)Henceforth establishing a military discussion group to work to provide for mutual exchange, discussion, and preparation between the general staffs of all participating nations to draw up combined war plans in the interest of mutual cooperation against any enemy in the case of their attack upon any member of the San Martin pact, and to promote mutual training and education for the improvement of combat capability.
9)To agree upon the importance of a shared understanding of history and of the relationship and history of Hispanic states through coming to a joint agreement upon textbooks and presentation of the history of Spanish settlement in the Americas and its consequences, reflecting the important gift of Hispanic civilization and the ultimate necessity of friendship in independence which was the natural destiny of this course of affairs.
10)Organizing the establishment of congresses for the mutual discussion and cooperation of Spanish language academies for the continued unity and enrichment of the language.
